Black Tea: Great Ally For The Body, From Burns To Shinier Hair
It is traditionally drunk at 5 o’clock in the afternoon accompanied either with milk, British style, or with a few drops of lemon. We are talking about black tea, which, as it happens with green tea, helps weight loss and also provides other benefits to health and therefore to the well-being of the human body.
Credit to the fact that it modifies the bacteria in the intestines, increasing energy metabolism at the level of the liver.
This is the finding of a University of California Los Angeles study published in the European Journal of Nutrition. According to the researchers, both green and black tea promote at the gut level the presence of bacteria associated with lean body mass, inducing a decrease in those associated with obesity and even modifying metabolism but in two perfectly distinct ways. In green tea, polyphenols, substances known to have a positive effect on health, are absorbed, while in black tea they are too large for this to occur, so a mechanism occurs that stimulates the growth of gut bacteria and the formation of short-chain fatty acids, linked to energy metabolism. “The results suggest that green and black tea are prebiotics, i.e., substances that induce the growth of good microorganisms that contribute to well-being,” Susanne Henning, research coordinator, noted.
For the purpose of the study, four groups of mice were assigned different diets, two of which, with a lot of sugar and fat, had green or black tea extracts added. Following about a month, a full four weeks, the weight of the mice that had taken extracts of the two teas was found to have decreased as much as that of others that had taken little fat and there were more bacteria in the gut related to lean mass. In particular, with black tea the presence of a bacterium from the Lachnospiraceae, Pseudobutyrivibrio, increased.
Black Tea Has Many Health and Body Benefits
Black tea has many beneficial power, let’s see some of them:
- Tea intake makes dull, lifeless hair much shinier than normal. If in the course of shampooing, green or black tea is applied, unruly strands also return to their rightful place. How it works. Infuse for 15 minutes and boil for a couple of hours or even overnight; pour over freshly rinsed hair and leave on for 10 minutes. To preserve shine, finish with a wash with conditioner.
- Relieves burns. Tablets made from tea bags are the magic cure for burns and redness from too much sun. Black tea bags and old T-shirts are sufficient.
- It soothes swelling caused by a common insect bite. Think of summer and the arrival of mosquitoes. It is advisable to try a tea bag applied directly to the sting.
- Excellent and natural remedy for dark circles and bags under the eyes. Credit is due to caffeine, which constricts blood vessels under the skin and eliminates dark circles under the eyes.
- Eliminates foot odor. Soaking the feet in a basin of boiled and cooled tea is recommended. The tannic acid in the tea has antibacterial and antifungal properties that literally cleanse the feet while relaxing them.
- It tones and moisturizes the skin more than any creme bought at a perfumery counter. Directly on the face or applied with cotton balls twice a day it removes impurities, tightens pores and gives skin a radiant appearance.
- After shaving it makes the skin smooth and soft without leaving room for irritation. If your legs react with itching and redness, you should dab them with cold black tea bags. The tannic acid provides immediate relief.
- Returning to the summer season, tea enhances and improves the tan. Again because of its coloring property, black tea is also suitable for those who want an all-natural tan boost. Again, just use a sponge soaked in black tea.
