3 Recipes With Salmon And Tea That You Can't Miss

Norwegian salmon with green matcha tea sauce

This recipe is not typical Norwegian, but made in Norway with Norwegian ingredients. It is Norwegian salmon with matcha tea green sauce – why? Simply because I had all the ingredients at home and one day I decided to put them together and see what happened. The result was better than expected!

for 2 people

  • about 250 g fresh Norwegian salmon
  • 1 scant teaspoon of Matcha green tea (cooking Matcha)
  • 50 ml cooking cream
  • 1/2 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil
  • salt
  • 6 small potatoes
  • 1 cucumber

To prepare Norwegian salmon with matcha green tea sauce (easy recipe!) start by steaming the potatoes and salmon.

In a blender, mix cream, the oil, salt and Matcha green tea for 1-2 minutes so that the green sauce is uniform.

Now all you have to do is to plate your Norwegian salmon, potatoes, and sliced cucumber and top with the green tea sauce.

Savory pie with Norwegian salmon and vegetables

The most suitable recipe for this day seemed to me to be one for savory pie with Norwegian salmon and vegetables, so here it is. It is not a Norwegian recipe, but we can call it Norwegian because it is made with typical Norwegian products: salmon, carrots and the much-loved potatoes, a true national pride.

  • 100 g Norwegian smoked salmon
  • 2 medium-sized potatoes
  • 2 medium-sized carrots
  • 1/2 leek
  • one roll of basta brisèe (you can also make brise pastry at home, it is easy)
  • 2 eggs
  • salt
  • extra virgin olive oil

To prepare the savory pie with Norwegian salmon and vegetables, first, cut the vegetables (potatoes, carrots, leek) into chunks about the same size.

Scald the vegetables in a pan with extra virgin olive oil for about ten minutes. Adjust for salt.

Pour everything into a bowl, add eggs and mix everything together.

Roll out the brisèe dough in a baking dish. Pour the egg and vegetable mixture in the center then lay the slices of Norwegian smoked salmon so that they cover the entire surface.

Now bake the salty cake with Norwegian salmon and vegetables in a medium oven (180° C) for about 30 minutes and… enjoy your meal

I recommend accompanying this salty cake with Norwegian salmon and vegetables with a cup of Lapsang Souchong…I like to pick up the smoky flavor of Norwegian salmon.

Afternoon tea – Norwegian salmon and smoked asiago fondue tea sandwich

This recipe is also perfect for a classic English afternoon tea, with sweet as well as savory appetizers, or for an aperitif on the terrace with friends.

  • 100 g fresh asiago cheese (or fontina)
  • two teaspoons of smoked Lapsang Souchong tea leaves
  • 50 g Norwegian smoked salmon
  • 1 small zucchini
  • 250 ml water
  • two slices of Tuscan bread

To prepare the Norwegian salmon and smoked asiago tea fondue sandwich, start with the tea by letting the Lapsang Souchong tea leaves steep for about 10 minutes in 250 ml of water. Strain and allow to cool.

Meanwhile, cut the fresh asiago cheese into cubes and place them in a bowl. Pour in the tea and let stand for about an hour.

Wash and cut the zucchini into not-too-thin strips. Grill.

Toast the two slices of bread in a pan.

Make an asiago fondue by melting the cheese together with the Lapsang Souchong tea in a double boiler.

Spread the asiago fondue on one of the two slices of bread, add the grilled zucchini slices and Norwegian salmon, and serve your Norwegian salmon and smoked asiago tea fondue sandwich.
