Today I would like to share with you one of my last favourite recipes: the recipe for Matcha Cappuccino, a cappuccino where instead of coffee we will be using Matcha green tea.
Ingredients
- 1-2 g of Matcha green tea
- 150 ml milk (preferably whole milk because it whips better)
- water
- sugar (to taste)
To make the Matcha Cappuccino, heat the milk. Meanwhile, prepare the Matcha green tea. Pour a teaspoon of Matcha tea into each cup and add a couple of tablespoons of hot water (about 80° C).
Matcha is a powdered tea so it does not have to be infused, but you must whisk the tea with a traditional chasen (whisk made of bamboo) or a classic electric beater.
Whip the hot milk with an electric whisk or milk whisk and pour it over the tea. If you prefer, add a teaspoon of sugar, otherwise your Matcha Cappuccino is ready to be enjoyed
In summer, if the cappuccino is too hot a drink for you, I recommend that you do not heat the milk, but whip the cold milk directly with a milk frother or make an iced Matcha latte directly.
