In summer, it is not easy to drink tea. Fresh, light products are preferred — like ice cream. I would often even have lunch with ice cream when it is very hot. Of course, when I get these “cravings” then I find out that there is nothing in the freezer. I don’t have an ice cream maker, it’s too hot to even think about going out–how to do it?
My solution is a rich salad plate and … popsicles! It doesn’t take much study or accessories to make them and in three to four hours they are ready. If I prepare them for lunch, I can comfortably enjoy them as a snack in the company of a good book.
Today I successfully experimented with Earl Grey tea and peach popsicles and I am happy to share my recipe with you. Good news for everyone: no dairy and dairy products, 100% veg.
Recipe for Earl Grey tea and peach popsicles
100 g water for 4 popsicles
5 g Earl Grey tea (1 1/2 tablespoons of tea leaves)
1 ripe peach
5 ice cubes approx.
(sugar optional)
First prepare the tea. I steeped the Earl Grey leaves for 4 minutes at 90°C.
Meanwhile, clean the peach and cut it in half. Blend the first half.
Strain and immediately lower the temperature by shaking the liqueur with the freshly prepared peach juice and ice. Be careful not to put in too many cubes as this will dilute the tea too much.
Pour the liquid into the popsicle molds. Cut the other peach half into cubes and divide them among the four molds.
Place the tea popsicles in the freezer for at least three hours.
An easy and fairly quick recipe, right? You only have to be careful about the ingredients: the tea must be well scented and the peach nice and ripe.
